With a background in corporate management, Dries Mangnus was looking for a challenge, and Crest’s franchise system was tracking north to Auckland.

While building and managing over 50 franchisees, Dries has also secured more than 350 customers. Heading the list are some fairly impressive names – Fonterra, Smith and Smith, Initial Health Care, Infinity Solutions – it goes on. Demanding to say the least, corporates are used to the best – they expect nothing less.

Dries believes that the modern business environment poses many challenges. Picking the right people is the first key – matching them with the right customers is also vital. “I also point out to franchisees that they’re in business, not working for someone else,” says Dries. “I like them to manage their own businesses and look after their customers very well”

Dries has no regrets about giving up corporate life.
