Couple receive 100 percent in customer satisfaction survey
Former telecommunications technician Rameshwar Sharma loves the variety he gets from running his own business.
As a specialist in carpet care, window cleaning, and hard floor care, Rameshwar says no two days are quite the same. “I like the variety of the work and there’s no pressure and we do the job at our own pace,” he says.
Before he owned a CrestClean business Rameshwar worked as a technician for Chorus. Although he enjoyed the job, the workload had increased and being a foreman was a stressful position, he says.
Rameshwar and his wife Rasmi, who was working in a rest home at the time, purchased a part-time cleaning franchise to boost their income.
“We decided to buy a house, so we needed some extra income,” says Rameshwar. “We found we enjoyed the cleaning so much that we resigned from our full-time jobs and went full-time with our cleaning business.”
The couple, who now run a large cleaning franchise and have just celebrated seven years with CrestClean, have also involved their three sons in the business. The youngsters, who are all in their 20s and have full-time jobs, lend a hand when they can. “On Thursdays and Sundays the kids help us out with the cleaning. They are a big help,” says Rasmi.

In a recent customer satisfaction survey the couple achieved a remarkable 100 percent. “It’s an unbelievable result.
“Rameshwar is totally focussed on his business and goes out of his way to see customers during the daytime to ensure they are happy and if there’s any extra cleaning required.”
Passing on their knowledge to CrestClean’s newcomers is an additional role the couple are involved in. “Apart from being really good operators, they are the Induction Trainers in the North Harbour Region. It’s fantastic having them on my team,” says Neil.
